This year, our talented students showcased their cutting-edge research at Scholarship Sewanee 2024, an interdisciplinary event celebrating academic excellence across a wide range of fields. With 134 posters and 66 oral presentations representing disciplines such as anthropology, biology, chemistry, neuroscience, and more, the event was a vibrant display of intellectual curiosity and innovation.

of the saffron flower. Students presented their current work and future projects, highlighting their hypothesis about the critical genes in saffron that play key roles in the flower's development. They proposed targeting these genes using advanced technologies like RNA interference (RNAi) and CRISPR-Cas9 to determine their precise functions.
The event provided a platform for our students to share their research progress with a broader audience, fostering discussions and sparking new ideas. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing how their work will contribute to the field of plant molecular biology.
